MD or MP3

Hello,
can someone tell me if following its from MD or mp3..Original source is probably a
tape that was used for a broadcast...if there would be no blocks it could be a similiar encoding like

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...ad.php?t=30357

Please explain detailly why u think that's it from mp3 or not..i wanna understand..;-)

And: Can somebody explain what these thin vertical lines means that goes beyond 20 kHz?

Thanx
Uli

clearly .mp3 because of the HUGE dropoff in frequency on the graph you provided at around 16kHz. This is the "classic" sign of there being .mp3 at some point in its ancestry.

Also, the spectral looks "chopped" off at the same frequency, it's way too level, there should be more spikes than this if it were lossless.

Re: MD or MP3

I'd guess this is ATRAC3 (LP2) which is really a little worse than even mp3 128kbps CBR and should not be traded. The noise in the high frequencies demonstrates that it has been captured via analog but if it was mp3 it would be perfectly black up there. Don't trade this one. I was tempted not to post at all.
