Mozilla Firefox problem (save a .jpg)

Hey now.
The other day I updated Firefox. v1.5.0.11??
I'm still on Win2000Pro.
I noticed some coverart posted, and tried to save the pic.
It's not saved.
Had to do it with IE.
Anyone else had this problem?

When you say it wasn't saved, do you mean you got an error? If you just couldn't find it (in the normal place), did you try opening up Downloads (Tools > Downloads) and seeing if the cover is listed there? If it is, then right-click Open Containing Folder and it will show you were it saved it.

Re: Mozilla Firefox problem (save a .jpg)

No no, no errors.
No sign of it in the download manager, in fact, I can't download anything properly, like I used to.
I wanted to save a file I was going to d/l from a rapidshare-type place, but it doesn't even show up in d/l manager... yet it did begin saving where i wanted.
But I can't save a pic. They don't show up in d/l mangr.
I'm on Win2000Pro. I think you're a Mac girl, no?
Anyway, I right click and save as... but no go. I always used to do it this way, no prob.
Gotta open an IE6 window of the same page to save a pic.
Buggy or what?

Yeah, I'm a Mac gal. Instead of doing the right-click thing, what happens if you just click on it?

Re: Mozilla Firefox problem (save a .jpg)

Just (left) clicking on a pic either does nothing, or depending on the website, could bring me elsewhere...
It's not just happening here for me.
So far, just a bit of inconvenience and pain to go to IE6 to save a jpg
I can still get a torrent going!
Just boggling how it stopped working. I guess I'm virus-bound or something...?
...but you wouldn't know anything about that, eh?
Maybe it'll go away on its own eventually?

Re: Mozilla Firefox problem (save a .jpg)

I always used to right click to save. It's stopped working right.
Download manager in firefox. It used to come up and tell me each pic/file saved - where it was saved, how long until d/l complete bar, etc.

I noticed the other day it was broken...
...I checked for updates, and there was one. It seemed to update.
I'm on the 1.5.something version. I seem to have some recollection of it saying something about a 2.0 version available now, but???

Maybe I'll try a re-in tomorrow...

Re: Mozilla Firefox problem (save a .jpg)

I got a PM from someone, here it is:
Hey, I saw your post in the Who thread, but you didn't look back at it. The way to fix your problem is to first close Firefox, then go to Start>Run>and type in %appdata%, then follow the path Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles, and there is only one more folder inside that, but the name varies. Go into it, and find the file called downloads.rdf, and delete it. Then restart Firefox.

I did it and it worked.

If anyone gets this wierd bug, that's the easy way to fix.
