Re: port forwarding

which torrent client are you using?
utorrent and azureus use a single port - you set it yourself (simply picking a random open port) .

example:
set the port to 65888 in the torrent client >
(enter the port forwarding screen in the router)
set the forwarding port (65888) to your workstation IP address (it might be something like: 192.168.1.100)

thats it in a nutshell - read up.. take your time.
there are lots of manuals/guides online and I dont wish to rewrite them here
Im going to finish having a drink and if you get really stuck.. post back

Re: port forwarding

perhaps your router looks more like this version
http://www.actiontec.com/products/da...S%20Router.pdf

at Step 7 > Select your computer name from the drop down menu>
then for protocol select ADD > give it a name (doesnt matter) and the port # you specified in utorrent.

that should do it

Re: port forwarding

I've tried to port forward using the website quite a few times, never been able to figure it out following the instructions.

Also cannot download or share as it's now an invalid port.

All this port stuff has got me .

Since i changed my modem to a new wifi modem, i have the same problem.
I'm now firewalled but utorrent tell me port 46928 is not opened for me.
So if i understand properly, i set this port to my worqtation IP adress and it will work.
Is utorrent using always the same port ?

Re: port forwarding

My PC is connected by ethernet with a modem Castlenet (CBV734EW) but i have also a portable computer which supports wifi (a MacBookpro). I don't use already the Mac for torrents because i'm just switching so i use both.
I searched on portforward but my modem isn't on the list.
