The details for the first release are here:
http://users.netcon.net.au/listen/hogweed/HW01.html

I will clearly provide these links and the text in the thread but I am not sure how to detail the lineage. I think the lineage for HW01 would look someting like this (gleaned from the text):
Aud>?>2nd Gen Cassette Tape>Akai GXC 570>Audiomedia III on a Macintosh w/ProTools>SHN

is that aceptable? should I try to detail the noise reduction and filtering in this line or is the link to the restoration page enough? Thanks.
I might go like this:
Aud>?>2nd Gen Cassette Tape> (Akai GXC 570>Audiomedia III on a Macintosh w/ProTools)*>SHN

* See this link for remastering details: http://users.netcon.net.au/listen/Hogweed.html

Something like that. But, that's just me. Your way is fine also as long as you mention the remastering and give a link to it.

(Very interesting site. I love the background info on all the shows.)

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

Ok, I spent a coupla hours last nite trying to seed my first show here at the den. I used EAC to rip the wav files from my cdr. Then compressed the wavs into flacs and saved the fingerprints. When I go too upload the actual torrent it says "must change url to www.tradersden/etc etc. What do I need to do from this point? Thanks for any help

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

It sounds like when you made your torrent file, you did not put in the correct announce url. The correct url is: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/tracker/announce.php

The notes at willmot show the cd as a cdr, yet the pressing I had,

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

Yaq regarding seeding policy in the faq - What is the policy here on TTD for widely circulated fan compilations? For example, some Neil Young compilations have been widely circulated from the Rust List or Rust Radio, such as "Piano Songs", "Piano Songs II", "Banjo Songs", "Capture The Horse" (which was vined here), and most recently "5x". For these compilations I can list the show dates for each track, and also verify that my copy matches the master copy of the compilation, but the tracks are all from different sources, and listing the lineage for each track would most likely not be possible (I would have to pester a whole lot of people: not something I am willing to do, and the likelihood of complete success would be extremely slim). It should be possible to note something about the source of each track (aud, fm, sbd, etc) but that would probably be the best I could do.

So, given that these "fan compilations' have been widely released and circulated, and very likely many other people want to hear them, is it sufficient that I am able to verify my ffps with the "compilation master"? Or are such compilations not allowed here on The Traders Den?

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

I don't see a problem with that... something like a Purple Chick release put together by fans as the best possible definitive edition would be almost impossible to get a complete lineage for, but since their releases are widely accepted as the cream of the cream of the crop it serves TTD's agenda of quality. If you want to seed something like that just make a note explaining the situation.
