Re: Nero DVD question

Just select data disc instead of video disc and then add the files to the root DVD directory instead of the DVD video directory.
...It won't play on a DVD player though.

Re: Nero DVD question

Are you using nero vision express? The easiest way to burn a dvd downloaded from this site using nero is to use just nero expres. Open nero express and click on add video files. Add just the video ts folder from the download folder of the show you want to burn. Set your drive speed and click burn.

NO...you need to keep all files that come with a show if you plan on trading/seeding in the future.

first off, always use Nero Burning ROM. forget the rest of Nero's progs.

To burn a data disc [for archiving and trading in the future]:
-Open Nero Burning ROM.
-Select "DVD-ROM (ISO)" as yer project type.
-Drag the show's folder [including ALL FILES] to the project window.
-Burn

To burn a "watchable" copy [yer home DVD player]:
-Open Nero Burning ROM.
-Select "DVD Video" as yer project type.
-Select all of the files in the show's Video_TS folder [.ifo, .bup, & .vob files] and drag them to the RED Video_TS folder thats displayed in the project window.
-Burn.

NOTE: Some DVD players can play a "data disc"-type disc, but not all.

Question First time burning a DVD

So after what seems like days, 6-23-89 phish finally finished downloading. I've never burned a show before (and this is my first phish dvd), so I could use some guidance. The following files are in the folder:
VIDEO_TS (ISO file)
VIDEO_TS (VOB file)
VTS_01_0 (IFO file)
VTS_01_0 (VOB file)
VTS_01_1 (VOB file)
VTS_01_2 (VOB)
VTS_01_3 (VOB)
VTS_01_4 (VOB)
VTS_01_5 (VOB)
Video_TS.bup (BUP)
VTS_01_0.bup (BUP)

Which files do I have to burn, and in what order? Also, what are these file extensions? And lastly, the program that came installed on my computer is InterVideo WinDVD Creator. Do people have good experience with this program, or should I look into getting something else? Thanks in advanced for the help!

You don't need a program like creator that is for authoring (creating) a DVD from your video files. You just want a burning program like NERO.

Check out this page and this heading

How to burn an already authored DVD-Video folder(VIDEO_TS)

Re: Nero DVD question

Er.........come on guys ....Application error
Its Nero

Try another burning proggy or un-install & then re-install Nero & follow AAR.oners 2nd set of instructions.
I stopped using there stuff for DvD's years ago.more headaches than a month on the piss.

I use the built in burning tool of Tmpg DvD Author 1.6

Open Tmpg DVD Author 1.6>Write DVD folder to DVD R/RW>Browse>load FOLDER>Write DVD
make sure you remove txt files, jpgs or whatever from the window on the left before you burn........you only want the VIDEO_TS folder in there

never had a coaster since.......Give that one a bash

K_K

Re: First time burning a DVD

if you have Nero, use Nero Burning ROM...its easiest/most reliable of the dvd burning progs [imo] for the windows os.

.iso, .ifo, & .vob files are all "DVD files" that are necessary for the DVD...you'll want to burn all of these [or the show won't work]...you will also want to keep any info text, md5 checksum, and artwork that came with the download to pass on with future trades [if you plan on trading shows].

I have a burning question

This is my situation. I downloaded a concert video through utorrent and is now sitting on my hard drive 2.4gb.
I want to burn it to DVD and play it in my DVDplayer.
I have PowerDVD v.6 and the latest upgrade of Nero 6.

How do I burn what I believe is a MPEG video file from my HD to the DVD-R so I can play it in my home DVD player (Sony DVPNS50 DVD)?

Re: I have a burning question

i'm *assuming* the show is in a "Video_TS" folder and contains three file types: *.ifo, *.bup, & *.vob

to burn a copy for watching on yer home DVD player:
-open Nero Burnig ROM
-select "DVD-Video" as the compilation type
-select&drag ALL of the files from the show's Video_TS folder to the *Red Video_TS folder* in the project window [left side]
-burn the disc

Nero Burning Question

I'm hoping someone can help me out. Here's my problem, I downloaded 2 DVD shows and am using Nero DVD-VIDEO to burn them to a disk. I copy the entire VIDEO_TS folder to nero and when I play them the Menu doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or what I should do to get the menus to work?

Please Help!!

Re: Nero Burning Question

Sounds like you're doing it correctly.

Are you sure that there are even menus in these DVD's?

Re: Nero Burning Question

I am having the same problem. For me, the menu is treated like a video so I can't decide to do song selection or anything. I want the program to recognize the menus from the Video TS folder as menus. Any advice (I'm using a demo, if that changes anything)?

Re: Nero Burning Question

Did you try to play it on a standalone?

Maybe you somehow burnt it as a data/iso.

Other than that it may be that you are BOTH using demo versions and for they disabled that feature.

Other than that it should work fine if you are dropping the entire content of the video_ts folder into the nero video_ts folder it sets up for you.
