Ratio strictness query

Hi all,

I got into trading about twenty years ago, but had a big gap in between! Recently come to the world of bootleg torrents, which is great.

When I jumped on this site, I grabbed a few Rush boots that had died in my old CD-R collection, but I now realise it's put my ratio way out of balance. I've been trying to seed other shows that have recently been uploaded, but I clearly have an uphill battle to get to a good ratio.

How serious is this? I see on Dime they're quite strict about keeping a ration of at least .25. I'm doing my best to get on the right side of things here, but wondered how in danger I am

As above: we may hassle you in The Lounge indeed, however - we won't, if you become The Lounge's active (preferrably: VERY active) member.

Re: Ratio strictness query

Duly noted! Thanks for the info, both

I'll do my utmost to keep a decent ratio. Regardless of there not being an official limit, I don't want to be a freeloader

Re: Ratio strictness query

Your ratio is fine. It's 1.17 - that means you've uploaded more than you've downloaded. Don't you understand how ratios work?

Re: Ratio strictness query

What if I build a website that streams FLAC sourced bootlegs for free? Might that make me cool as well

Just a heads up, I've actually done this, and need a couple of people to help me test things. It'll help if you're a Rush fan, as I've only been putting some of my Rush bootlegs on the server so far

I don't have any rush but I've been dumping my collection at Planet Rock (another tracker who only shames you for ratio issues) and you can grab and stream whatever of mine you'd like - I think that's a really neat idea.

Re: Ratio strictness query

I'll check out Planet Rock. I've not heard of that one before.

I'm still in the process of recovering a lot of my collection. Back in the days of snail mail trading, I allowed far too many people to send me shows on low quality media. I'm now paying the price for that decision!
