Help Please: preparing a recording to upload, r8tbrain error

a member asked me to upload a recording he made for him so i thought i'd give it a try.
here's the lineage so far.

Lineage : core sound binaurals> battery box > edirol r-07 24/44.1 khz > (wav) > usb dell inspiron 15 notebook > usb > (me)
My processing steps: wav file (1,844,162 KB) > cd wave editor 1.98 > split tracks > retitled tracks > r8brain >
i tried to dither the files to 16 bit but i get this message as shown

am i doing this wrong?
or must/can i 'tag' these files to suit the program?
help would be appreciated!

maybe i should dither the big daddy .wav and then separate that into the wav tracks.
i doubt that would help, however.

You're not the only one with that problem:

If I was you, I'd convert it to flac and then resample. Or just use something else for the task.

Do you mean use something other than cd wave editor to separate the tracks?
Maybe there is a switch in cd wave editor in preferences having something to do with it???

No, I meant: use something else for resampling.

Either way, high definition wav is not easy to deal with.

Re: Help Please: preparing a recording to upload, r8tbrain error

Save it at a lower bitrate in CD Wave Editor: File - Save - Output Mode - Wav - Change frequency and resolution to your liking.

Re: Help Please: preparing a recording to upload, r8tbrain error

Thanks tappy. I think that did the trick. Just loaded each of the 24 bit files then saved each file as 16 bit. I never used the program before and didn't know the various functions and options.
Thanks for the help tappy and joujoujou!
