Max for Audio Extraction and Conversion on a Mac

A new version of Max came out for Macs. http://sbooth.org/Max/ It has FLAC support now and error correction for ripping. Is it good enough to use instead of xACT?

Looks very promising. Do you know of any comparison studies done between it and xACT?

Sorry. No clue. Just getting started in audio conversion. Saw it and liked it so I thought I would mention it.
