Hard 17 khz CO

I was asked by a trader who wasn't sure if he could share this show. He was told that this was a MD recording. It isn't. It's from 1989.
It has this pretty hard CO around 17 khz but I dont see further evidence for lossyness. Could this be nr'd or something or is it lossy?

Re: Hard 17 khz CO

Could be analog -> MD or DAT -> MD.

But it looks like mp3 to me. For what it's worth, I'd guess FhG.

Re: Hard 17 khz CO

the noise/highs have been taken out... hard to tell exactly what's going on beyond that. might be worth comparing with the caps in the 32kHz DAT thread, but I think this is different.

Re: Hard 17 khz CO

Thanks for your reply, Five.

It doesn't look much different than a 32 khz DAT to me. But isn't the CO too high?

Re: Hard 17 khz CO

yeah it does look a tiny bit high, doesn't it?

compare with over here, yours actually resembles the 'mystery show' posted at the beginning, strangely. I'm not certain what this show is, could be LPF/NR/something? can't really say

Re: Hard 17 khz CO

Thanks anyway, five. Will say to the trader that this belongs in the wtf category.
