How do you take screenshots of a DVD?

I tried pausing the DVD and pressing Print Screen but that didn't work. Can anyone help me out?

Re: How do you take screenshots of a DVD?

I'm interested to know how to do this too, with freeware. I've not been successful so far, but I also haven't spent a lot of time on it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Are you talking about on a PC or a Mac? On a Mac, use VLC and then Apple + Shift + 4 and click > drag to capture what you want.

on a PC. goto http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/g...2.zip?download and download this file. it is windows media player classic. it is the only thing i use to view offline media files. dvds, mpgs, everything. very compact and fast. when using it, just press pause, goto file...save image and you have your screenshot.

I use WinDVD (which is not free <wink wink>). Has a screen capture button built in.

I registered here just so I could say "Thank You!".
Was looking for exactly such a thing and a google search brought me to this post. This is an awesome solution...

So, thank you from a newbie stranger who was rather appreciative.
