DVD 9 to 5 Conversions....

So I remember someone here saying there was a way to split a DVD9 to a DVD5 without much quality loss.....I know how to just bangzoom along with DVDShrink, but it's gonna compress the living daylights out of it.....

Is there a tutorial anywhere that can show some insight on making this happen without compressing the hell out of it?......Can I just take the video stream and re-encode it at a lower bitrate????

I dunno...I'm at a loss here.....my player freezes up with dual layer discs....won't even load em......only burned ones though.....

HELP!

Marmar

You can use DVDShrink to split a DVD9 onto two DVD5 without any quality loss. You will lose the menu though...
Here's a link to a tutorial:

DVDFab will split with no quality loss, and you can keep your menues as well.

Are you using Verbatim DVD+R DL, booktyped to DVD-ROM (with booktype compatible drive), and does the data have proper 32k gapping, with a correctly set layer break?

How old is the player? Brand/model.
