Transferring from SD card

I just got home from a show and I'm trying to transfer the files that I recorded off my SD card. (it splits at 2GB). The first file transfers over nice and easy, but the second file gives me all kinds of trouble no matter what I do. When I try to just copy it, it will freeze at a certain percentage. And if I try just to edit it straight from the card, everything just freezes up. What do I do???

Re: Transferring from SD card

Hey PG.

Are you transferring from your recorder, or from the SD via a card slot ?
It's possible that the card may be corrupt, or the recorder is playing funny buggers. If you have access to another PC try it there but transfer the files individually.

Let us know.

Re: Transferring from SD card

I left the transfer going while I was asleep and when I woke up, it was fully transferred. It's like it gets hung up on one part for awhile...odd...

Make sure you have a listen back to the whole file before doing anything with it. It may have bugs from the "hung time".

Re: Transferring from SD card

Try opening in Audacity in "raw" mode. The wave header may be damaged.

"Open raw (headerless) audio files using the “Import Raw” command."

Nope...it seems to be working just fine.
