Re: How to Trade

That's a very open-ended question. What do you want to do, trade through the mail?

Go over to the Snail Mail forum and look through there. I guess that should give you a good idea of how to "trade."

Re: What is Trading

Trading is giving someone something of yours in exchange for something of theirs of equal value. When talking about trading shows, it means you send a couple of discs and they send you a couple of discs. On this site, it also means the shows are lossless (not mp3) and usually the discs exchanged are in flac/shn format (not wav/aiff format).

Is that what you are asking?

Striker:

Trading is exactly what it sounds like. Someone has a show (audio or video) that you want, and you get it by offering them a show that you have and that they want. You certainly can establish trades here, through the appropriate forum. I want to suggest that you take some time and research this site, since some people get pissed off when you post in the wrong forum, and won't reply

Since you seem to be completely new to this, you probably don't have too much, if anything, to trade with , which means that you'll need to build your collection by doing B&P's (sending blank disks and return to someone who has a show you want). I'd recommend that you check out the following link, which explains the basics of B&P's, and you should be good to go!

Re: How to Trade

and, of course, bittorrent (see the faq)... you download a show this way and be sure to upload as much as you download (make the stats under your name show green), and that's a fair exchange. sort of an anonymous trade. since there isn't enough bandwidth to download absolutely everything, ppl trade by mail (or sometimes in person) 1:1 for stuff that they've missed or that has never been on bt.

be forewarned, it is highly addictive
