Re: and so it begins

Easy, Cog, though SHN playback can be a tad problematical. Make an shntool MD5 with xACT, convert to a 21st Century format like FLAC and dump them ol' SHN's in the trash.

Re: and so it begins

Are you trying to play SHN files or something else ?

If you're not trying to play SHN, you may want to go to Applications/Utilities/Console and open it up. If Cog appears in the thread which opens, see at what point it gave up the ghost. If it doesn't appear there you could click the triangle next to ~/Library/Logs and then CrashReporter. If Cog is listed here, what is reported will almost certainly mean nothing to you but it will help if you post it along with a bug report here

Also, make sure you delete the default playlist which is located: Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Cog/default.playlist

Re: and so it begins

If you're determined not to convert SHN to FLAC etc. (you can drop SHN's straight into xACT's encode window without decompressing them to AIFF/WAV first), you can play them with Macamp Lite.

Download MacAmp Lite X r10c2 and be sure to bookmark the main page as you'll need the link to the remedy for periodic failure to launch.

Why don't you just go apple+shift+4 and then drag across the area you want?
