Can someone explain how to up a photo of my dog for the thread, i find the search function on this site to lead me no where-thanks in advance

in the reply you are making is a "manage attachments" button. This will get you an upload button for many file types including your pictures. Also you can use a service like Photobucket (which is what I use mainly for personal photos) that will give you more control of the size etc.

You may either upload it to your own website, or photobucket or similar, and then paste the url in image tags, ie. [ img ]url.to.photo[ /img ] (no spaces within the brackets) or you may hit the Go Advanced button and then use the attachments manager to attach the image.

I am trying to upload a photo from my computer using the manage attachments button, then browse and selectthe photo and hit upload. It keeps failing. It is named simply jpg is 2.84 MB and 3072x2304 pixels. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong ?

I could be wrong, but I *think* there's a 2mb file size limit for photos. I'd try pulling the pic into some kind of photo editor and either resize the pic a little smaller, or re-saving it at a slightly more compressed setting. I use a free program called irfanview to do this stuff. Google it if you need it. Good luck!
