help w/ seeding torrent w/ corrupt files!!

Help! I am seeding a torrent, and a I had a friend help me along. moe2005-28-05 DVD. He was going to help me seed. He became the primary seed, and somewhere along the line, one of his files got corrupt. We now have the file fixed. Do we need to create a new torrent, and creat a new post, how do we get this out to all the people that have already started downloading? It was just one of the *.vob files that was corrupt. What do we need to do to get this back up and working order so everyone can get the c orrect files? Is everyone going to have to restart their download? Thakn you very much for your help
i have e-mailed the mods, and they haven't responded yet. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get this fixed now that i have the new torrent created, and I'm also going to need to let everyone know how is sitting stagnant on the old torrent.
Jeff

Re: help w/ seeding torrent w/ corrupt files!!

create a new torrent from the good files and tell everyone to delete the previously corrupt .vob and point the new .torrent at the same folder. then once you see its running kill the old torrent.

Re: help w/ seeding torrent w/ corrupt files!!

i thought about doing that. should i just create a new thread? i was thinking that if i did so, mod's might pull the thread, and i can not edit the current thread with the new torrent file. I've already created it, i'm just waiting to hear back. are you saying start a new thread? and how do i contact all those who have started the download already?

yeah create a new thread with "fixed" in the title and launch the new torrent. btw the new torrent should have a slightly different name or the tracker might reject it as a duplicate. once the new one is running okay we kill the old one. let me know how you're doing with it

Oh and we have to get the fingerprints posted on all your stuff... I can help you with this.

see if you can figure it using this prog:

md5summer.org

after you generate the .md5s just open them with notepad, edit your 1st posts and paste the contents in the thread.
