Do you just want to play an FMP4 video file? If so, you can use VLC Media Player.

If you want to edit the file, then it's a little more complicated. I found this thread that discusses it:

I have VLC, I also have an FMP4 file I would like to convert to avi but cannot because I don't have the codec.
