anyone know a good video capture software !!!!

hey
i got a minidv camcorder and have taped a bunch of shows
now i got all these tapes of shows
and i wanna start workin on them
some of them need editing
some dont and are just fine front to back

so can someone tell me a good video captureing software so i can get them off the tapes and onto my comp

mabie one off of what.cd
let me know

if there is one tat captures and edits that even better
either way ..... i need some help here

most NLEs [non-linear editors] will allow you to capture, edit, filter, etc...some are entire production suites that also include a compression engine & a DVD authoring progrmming [menus, etc]

i run Final Cut on a Mac...

for PC users, there's numerous options -- Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Avid, Pinnacle, etc...the most popular one with PC authorrers around here would probly be Vegas
