Yeah, this is what confuses me the most. That is why i didn't tell Nero to continue anyway.

It is a video i downloaded from WinMx...a long time ago. i think it was from a dude in Italy, so i kind of wondered if maybe there were some kind of NTSC/PAL problems that i was missing, even though gspot says it is NTSC. Also, i've heard that gspot is sometimes wrong, but not sure of exactly what types of errors it makes, so i was hoping for some clairification on that end.

Thanks again to all.

well my intension is to use it as a video.
gnomebaker dosen't have a specific DVD-Video option
i figure i could just toss in the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders and burn it

Burning Dual Layer DVD's

Hi everyone,

I have been burning all my dvd's with nero 6 and have never had problems until I started burning the DL's. My burner has the capability and Nero 6 appears to work, but the dvd's always come out choppy. They oftenly freeze while playing and sometimes will not ever get past the menu to even play (they will play stuck in the menu which will go back and forth from fuzzy to clear video). It's strange and I thought I'd ask here before I continue to try and solve the issue through testing and waste boatloads of moolah with each ruined dl dvd. I'm wondering if the software or media might be my problem. Does anyone have any reccomendations on other burning software to try? Is it as simple and straight forward to use as Nero?

Thanks in advance to all reading and/or responding to this!

James

Re: Burning Dual Layer DVD's

Which DL media discs to use use? I have used Verbatim DVD+R DL made in Singapore disc with my Plextor 716A and I used Nero 6.6.

Re: Burning Dual Layer DVD's

The ones I have are Dynex. It could very well be the media. I have never tried any other brands.

Re: Burning Dual Layer DVD's

i'm guessing its the media...Dynex uses multiple manufacturers including AN, CMC, MKM, etc...some are known for decent quality discs, some are cheap crap...best to stick with a company such as TDK for DL media at this point.

here's a good resource for researching quality of CDR/DVDR brands and manufacturers:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
you can also check brand comparisons at cdfreaks.com and videohelp.com

Question Getting Started, lil help please?

Whats up everyone. I just downloaded my first dvd, and I'm definitly trying to watch it. I can't get it to play in anything. There is a torrent folder and a few files, one ends w. NTSC-BTP. Just so u know its 11-16-1995 west palm beach show. Heard good things about it. I can trade it since this would be the first thing I have on this computer. Any help would be greatly apprecieated. peace :-)

Re: Getting Started, lil help please?

Well it dosen't look like I'll get it from you. So have a nice night, the information you provied me with is very useful. Can't thank you enough...
I don't see the point in taking the time to reply to someone just looking to get a quick question answered and not answering them.. seems pointless.. hopefully someone is cool enough to answer my question. Peace.
