Question Sudden stat jump?

I noticed that all of a sudden (like since yesterday) my ratio plummeted from about 1.12 to 0.66. I don't pay too much attention to the individual u/l and d/l numbers but I get the feeling that somehow my d/l numbers have been artificially inflated. I simply can't imagine how I could have suddenly jumped by like 50Gb in a day. I don't have that kind of bandwidth, and all my current and recent d/ls have ratios near or greater than 0.5.

Is there any way to examine the details of my stats to understand what happened here?

Re: Sudden stat jump?

Yes, that happened to a few people over the last day or so. I can't examine them, but I think it may have happened as I switched our announce script today. Make note of them now and see how they do by this time tomorrow (it would help me alot to know this). My stats stayed just fine, but then I wasn't 'on' any torrent as I did the change today.

Also, you can send an email to the Contact Us link below telling me what you think they should be and I will manually change them for you. But, can you wait a day so that you can see if this 'stat' trend continues, please? And please comment back here if it does or does not continue. Thanks!

Re: Sudden stat jump?

well according to my new stats, which just changed within the last couple of hours, i have downloaded 16million + TB's from here. In the process I have maxxed out the bandwidth on OC3 lines throughout the world and smoked a few hundred hard drives

Re: Sudden stat jump?

No, they didn't. I've just been going through the stats. We've had this weird stats problem before. I'm probably gonna have to reset them to what they were yesterday.

Re: Sudden stat jump?

well it went from showing me downloading 16,777,000 TB to 956 MB when a few hours ago it was around the 11.5GB it should be, I would say a 16 million TB change is pretty drastic whether its an increase or decrease

Re: Sudden stat jump?

don't know how much it matters but, my stats say 2.92 gb/906.30mb/0.30

since i joined yesterday, and have only had one torrent here running acording to my client 947.33mb/1.14gb/1.234 and still going. something seems a bit off.

personaly, i don't care as long as i know i'm giving back at least an equal share and not shutting anyone out. just thought i'd make a note of it.

peace, kirk

Re: Sudden stat jump?

Yeah my stats have moved from a ratio of about 2.2 to 0.6

Hopefully you can fix this up when you get the chance. I'm actually more wondering why I can't seem to download the U2 dvd from LA in 1987 , I dunno what the problem there is.

DS

Edit: just noticed what the problem is with my stats - the 3 torrents I'm attached to now all have exactly the same numbers for the amount I've uploaded and downloaded - that just ain't possible.

Re: Sudden stat jump?

Hi Lynne,

Posted a ratio-gone-haywire note in the section "all ratio issues here". Instead of reprinting it here, hoping you can look at my post there. Thanks in advance for straightening this out. I understand that simply going back to our ratios from a few days ago may be all that can be done now. But hope that once that's done, I can request to have re-added the uploading that I've been doing since then. Keeping track here and will sit tight until the initial fix is made.

Thanks as always.

Re: Sudden stat jump?

My ratio went from somewhere around 2.0 to .22. I'm not too upset, but thought I'd follow the message on the login screen and post here.

Re: Sudden stat jump?

Something is definitely goofy. Last night I was at 170.85/113.12 and now it's showing 260.54/214.82. I wish I could be moving 100Gb in each direction per day, but it just ain't so...

edit - good grief! The numbers each jumped 10Gb in the time it took to post this message!

I can't deal with this right now, but, what bittorrent client, and what OS, and what else can you tell me about your setup. This is only happened to a couple people so I need to know particulars. I'll get back to this in a couple of days.
