Editing Program Susgestions

I was wondering if anyone could help me. A friend of mine is looking for a video editing program for windows. (I'm on mac so I don't know too many.) Something that can also authorize would be good. The one problem is that he doesn't know how to use computers well. (So bad I'm transferring the footage off the camera for him). Anyways I'm just looking for suggestions. Free would be best but something that's not too much would be good too.

Thank you!

Direct him to Videohelp tools & forum. If your friend is not crazy on video re-encoding then I'd recommend TMPGEnc Authoring Works. It's the cheapest professional program for DVD and Blu-ray authoring, which may also convert various video & audio formats.

Freeware: DVD Styler, and Video-to-Video-Converter.

I'd appreciate the replays but emphasis of easy to use.

i could pass along a keygen ... if need be to keep it FREE.
for some vegas video 12 but it would need to be run on a 64 bit machine or he could use one of the older ones for a 32bit machine... all in the same keygen.

Re: Editing Program Susgestions

For DVD authoring (with no conversion/encoding needed) and assuming you don't want fancy scrolling menu's etc I would advice DVD Styler (to begin with). It is pretty simple, straightforward and easy to use (there is a manual online). The only annoying thing is that the installation contains adware like browser toolbar addons, new start homepage, software suggestions (nothing that can't be undone). If your friend feels comfortable with it he can always scale up.
