Re: Question about dvd burning

I see no BUP or VOB. I have two IFO files 2 backup IFO files. What are these files for anyway? They don't transfer onto nero. Only the 5 mpeg files show up.

Yeah, technically speaking they are MPG-files, and your Explorer will probably tell you so.

But the point is: All the files are just fine for burning. No need to alter anything. You just need to find a way to tell Nero to just burn them as they are.

The dragging into the Nero window you describe is definitely the wrong way. IFO and BUP files contain navigation data and need to be on the disc like all the other files from the folder. Again: Which Nero version?

Re: Question about dvd burning

I am using nero 7. Even when the 6 files (including the menu) are added manually (in nero>add video files>file browser>location>desktop>video_ts>highlighted all>open) it's the same thing.

The Video_ts folder on my desktop shows 10 files 2 say "backup file for the IFO"
2 say "IFO file" and 6 say MPEG File

Re: Question about dvd burning

The only files that nero will load in the window are the mpeg files.

Re: Question about dvd burning

wait...is it possible that nero turned them into mpeg files??? I don't remember what the files said before I first loaded them onto nero. A window did pop up originally after each transfer saying that my mpeg-2 coding ability was going to expire next month. And there was coding going on with a progress bar!

Re: Question about dvd burning

So your window where the DVD files go, does it look like a list of titles with running time and other details, or does it look an Explorer window, i.e. with a folder structure?

Re: Question about dvd burning

It's the wrong window.

When you start up Nero, what were the options you chose to get to that window?

There we go. Start Smart keeps fooling me too from time to time. In the Start Smart window, look for an option called "Nero Express". There should be a drop-down menu on the left of the window with that option, sorted under Applications.

True, a Data DVD would be tough for standalones. But you can burn a DVD Video with a window like that too.
