I taped a very famous band...and I need help!

A friend of mine lent me his Samsung SCMX10 to tape a very famous band a few weeks ago.

this is the camera

http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-camc...-32550996.html

the camera doesn't use tapes, it has an 8gb HD and creates .AVI files every time you stop recording.

In the end it created like 4 AVI files.

I'd like to creat just ONE avi file and then convert it to DVD and then share it and stuff...

what would be the ideal process and the right software to do it all in order to keep a decent quality?

oh and one more question, is a dvd coming from avi files lossy?

thanks!
