Problems with firewall

Hey guys. I'm having some trouble in allowing people donwload my files. I had been reading the foruns about this, and how to solve the problem, but after that and doing what they told, I continue to have the same problem. If some guy could help me it would be great.

Cheers,

Meth.

Did you read the bottom of the post?

If you still need help, then please post a thread asking for help in this forum. Please let us know what Operating System you are running, what router make and model you are using, what bittorrent client you are using (including the version), any anti-virus protection app you have, etc.

Re: Problems with firewall

working example:

configure your Ethernet card on your computer:

IP address: 192.168.1.50
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

With a web browser configure your Linksys router:

default Linksys IP address (enter this in your web browser)
192.168.1.1

-you should get a prompt for a login and password
(the default is *admin* (in password field only - leave username blank)

In the router Select : Applications & Games tab (forwarding)

enter a checkmark & give the service some name *torrent1*
enter the port number you assigned to utorrent (same number in start and end field - 55000 is a good port number)
select *both* (tcp/udp) traffic
enter the IP of 192.168.1.50 (because you want the traffic going to your workstation)

save

close your torrent program & restart it
log back into TTD
Finished

Re: Problems with firewall

What exactly have you done so far to forward your ports?

Is your XP firewall disabled?
Have you done anything with AVG regarding allowing uTorrent passed it?
Have you set up a local static IP (first step Mr. Wolf mentioned above)?

If you can let us know what you *have* done, then it is easier for us to tell you what you still need to do.
