I must have taken at least 40 covers off that site, I'd gladly donate when it's back

Re: What about a covers section?

I am still trying to work out what exactly is causing my server to become non-responsive. It is still doing it even though I basically have livedvdcovers.org shut down. The hurricane is supposed to be here tomorrow morning. No one really knows what will happen so I may be without power and Internet for several days or weeks. Sorry this update isn't a little more helpful or uplifting

Anyways, if you'd like to help out, I need a mod or two. The two that I've had haven't worked out too well.

Before I respond to this, I'll give you the opportunity to clarify if you're referring to me or not.

Re: What about a covers section?

I need to get with Mike and see what we can work out and see if we can put the covers section on the second server. Right now, if we put it on this server and into the database, it would slow down the site.

So, we are thinking about it.

Re: What about a covers section?

we could always temporaroly just have a covers "forum" and just upload to imageshack/photobucket and just thumbnail them in.

Re: What about a covers section?

OK guys, here's what I'm going to do....

I'm going to try to move the attachments out of the database and into the files system. The last time I did this, it caused problems for uploading to the tracker. However, that was a different tracker. So, I have a test torrent already to put onto the tracker as soon as I move the attachments. If everything runs smoothly, then I'm going to add a Covers forum.

What I need to know is:

Maximum filesize in bytes for these covers. I don't collect them, so I really don't know.
And, maximum dimension size in pixels.

toto, you should be able to grab that stuff from the covers you have. I can always adjust later if we are off.

Just another reason why I love you Lynne!

For the ones I make they are 3225 x 2156 pixels and generally between 2 and 4 MB.

This is going to really help out the DVD section (I'm not sure the audio people care much, but I may be wrong)

WOOOHOO! Thanks lynne!

Yea what chachi said is about right, they vary between 2 and 4 mb, most hit around 3 though. Over at livedvdcovers they were labeled: bandname.YYYY.MM.DD (and the author was thrown in there somwere)

Re: What about a covers section?

Ok guys, I've got a Covers forum up for you. Please, please, PLEASE try to do your thread titles in a consistant manner as I state at the top of the forums. Being consistant with the Full Band Name and the date format of YYYY-MM-DD will make it much easier for people to find stuff when doing a search on the site.
