speed correction question

Several recordings I have downloaded have a slightly incorrect speed/pitch. I have the tools to correct them but I'm not sure about seeding them once I fix them. I don't have the original tapes or even the original silvers. I just have the lossless SHN and FLAC files. If I speed correct from these files will it be lossy? Can I seed them?

Re: speed correction question

it won't be lossy unless it already was or you somehow encode it to mp3 or similar.

join & correct the entire show at once, then re-cut it properly on the sector boundaries again.

then take the existing lineage and add what you did, i.e. some mics>some recorder>some other stuff>flac>software you used (for pitch correction)>wav>flac

also add some comments to the "notes" section (such as whether you slowed it down or sped it up, etc).

if you have adequate lineage etc to comply with usual ttd seeding policy then you can still seed it after doing the correction and adding the information about what you did to the lineage.

Since they're previously circulated shows, you might also want to add "pitch -corrected" to the description in the title of the announce thread when you seed.
