Disappearing files

I generally use my home pc for downloads but I'm on the road alot so I've been using my laptop, the last couple of shows I tried to download haven't shown up on my computer. My client shows that they're being dl'd but when I open the folder I've saved them in' there's nothing in there and if I try to open a new client it defaults to the empty folder. Also, when I click on details, it shows that the files were downloaded but if I do a search on my laptop for them, nothing shows up.Weird. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. My OS is Vista (which I'm assuming is part of the problem) and my client is bittornado

Re: Disappearing files

in many torrent clients you can 'right-click' the torrent download & select: Open Containing Folder (or some wording of that sort - which opens the folder containing the files)

its not the OS, its not the torrent client, and its not deleting itself.
the error is occurring at the keyboard/interface.

Re: Disappearing files

Is it because one of these new 'safety feature' which is based on Microsoft's dumb assumption that a user makes only a boo when handling files?
