Question How to remove frying bacon sound?

As in title, does anyone know a good method or software to remove such kind of screechy sound? Common option "click and pop" removal doesn't work well with it.

Re: How to remove frying bacon sound?

what you are describing sounds as if the files might be lossy and there's not much you can do.

Yes, you are right - it's "lovely" AC3 crap. However, there is no other version available of a video I want to restore.

some wav editors have a click and pop cleaner function... you don't get something for nothing, but you might be able to find a setting that is better than the source to your ears. the best way to do it would be to fill (not delete) every single crackle one at a time but this take a looooong time, as you can imagine. if its your favorite show of all time you might want to try this option.
