Persistent Seeding Problem

I cannot upload unless I have an incomplete copy of a d/l. When I try to come back and seed after completion I get 0 connections and 0 upload.

Not firewalled... tried changing port range... still cannot upload.

I have been doing this for a long time and I never had this issue. I changed nothing with my system. This came out of nowhere...

I posted this earlier, thought it was solved but the issue lingers. Help!!

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

Have you tried using a different bittorrent client? Has the bittorrent client that you are currently using had any updates lately?

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

I uninstalled and redownloaded my client (Bit Tornado T-0.3.7) and still the problem lingers.

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

Well, try the regular bittorrent client and see if you still have the problem.

It's almost like one of your preferences got set to disconnect you from the torrent once you finished your download. So, another thing to do is to look through all your preferences, especially any that have to do with 'rules'. (I'm not familiar with Bit Tornado, so I can't help with the specifics there.)

im not familiar w/ tornado either (unless you're talking about Dolemite, the 'Human Tornado' )...

when i 1st started using ABC, i went away for the weekend, thinking i would seed the whole weekend. when i got back, i was disconnected because there was an option in preferences that was checked "Upload until UL/DL = 100%" VS "unlimited upload"(what it should be)...

sounds like that could be your problem rambler, good luck

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

rambler, have you tried another client to see if this isn't just a problem with bittornado?

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

I tried Utorrent and loved the layout. Unfortnately I could not d/l or u/l. I switched back to BitTornado and I could d/l fine but still had the weird u/l issues.

I have been doing this for over a year now, I cannot understand what happened.

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

When you used uTorrent, you couldn't download or upload at all? Did you set the port to the same one ou use with bittornado?

Do you get an error? If you are downloading a show, will it upload also? Once the show is done downloading, does it just suddenly stop uploading? And, does it go out of seed mode or stay in seed mode but just not connect to anyone? And, have you tried changing your ports to ones not commonly used for bittorrent - like over 50000.

Re: Persistent Seeding Problem

Are you sure it's trying to save them again? Sometimes it looks that way but all it's really doing it going on to verify that the files are complete. When it asks you where to save the files, make sure you point it to the folder with the complete show (sometimes you have to point to the 'parent' folder, but I think most programs will accept either now).

couldn't get utorrent to work right. tried azureus and it's working fine... ULing at 50k/sec. i wonder if this is a common problem with bittornado.
