changing volume level?

I find it very annoying that I have to manually keep changing the volume for certain songs on my ipod.

I put the songs in audacity, (4 tracks) but how do I make it so they are all the same volume. In protools there is a feature called 'master fader' it makes the volume the same on every track. How can I do this in audacity with just a few clicks.

I know you can manually adjust the volume for each track by eyeballing with the 'amplify' settings but that takes time, is there an easier way so that the volume is same on all tracks.

thankx

Re: changing volume level?

Normalize the audio.

It varies from program to program, but the methodology is pretty universal. You can find more information at the bottom of this SoundForge audio filtering guide and more methods are discussed in its video/audio forums.

Don't change "volume" settings.
