Radio announcers: remove?

I'm transferring a U2 show from cassette to wav, and was wondering if I should remove the announcer. She says "U2 live on the Zooropa Tour" just as Zoo Station starts, so to remove it I'd have to fade the song in. Personally, I'd prefer to have it removed, but what's the accepted standard? Leave it in to keep the song complete, or remove it to keep the show clean?

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

I have a show (which happens to be a U2 show also) where the seeder provided two options for tracks like this. They would be labeled something like "u2xxxx-xx-xxd01t01v1.flac" and "u2xxxx-xx-xxd01t01v2.flac". Version 1 would have the radio announcer for people who want to keep it and version 2 had it removed and the track was faded in for people who didn't want it. I thought that was a nice way to handle it.

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

Personally, I would like it left in (not that I'm ever going to grab a U2 show ).

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

Radio announcements do sound cool when they're 20-30 years old. So consider it planning for the future.

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

i personally prefer the unadulterated version...but if you are the one who taped it, it really up to you to whether you wanna keep those or not

[but its common courtesy that if someone else taped it, don't mess with it]

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

I would leave it in, especially in this case where you will lose a bit of music!

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

If in doubt, include both versions.

Re: Radio announcers: remove?

As it turns out, I won't be bothering with it, because it's already been posted. I did a search on a BT search engine (btjunkie.org) but didn't find it, but then, on a whim, after posting my question, I searched here, and it had been posted last summer. Odd, because btjunkie indexes TTD.

The consensus seems to be leave it in, but it just irritates me because there are several DJ's hosting the simulcast (U2 from Dublin '93) and the Brits stop talking before the music starts, but the Amrican blabs DELIBERATELY right as the music starts! It seems calculated just to screw tapers!
