Arrow The Allman Brothers' moogis.com + the 40th Ann. Beacon Run

For those of you who don't know, Butch Trucks' moogis.com website will be hosting the Allmans' 2009 Beacon Run.

from moogis.com:
WHAT IS MOOGIS?

Five years ago Butch Trucks, a founding member and drummer of the Allman Brothers Band, had a vision of how the Internet could bring the live concert experience into people's homes around the world, expanding the audience of a live concert to many thousands of music-loving fans. But this would be more than just another streaming video service that didn't care about the content itself – it would be an extended community that felt that same magical bond that comes over a crowd during that roar of approval after a soaring solo.

Butch's vision was right on – but the technology at the time was limited, and it has taken enormous patience and persistence to get to the point where the experience could match the dream – and so, Moogis was born. Moogis offers its subscribers streaming video access to entire live concerts, both in real time and on-demand from its archives. Moogis.com is the gathering place for our subscribers, a social website where you can create your own profile, join discussion groups, hang out with like-minded folks and share the communal experience that music inspires. We don't have a drum circle yet, but who knows...

All this is coming together in time for the Allman Brothers Band’s historic 40th anniversary run at the Beacon Theatre in New York City . The Beacon has always sold out and drawn fans from near and far – this year, you can be part of the biggest Beacon audience ever – and experience what we know will be a truly epic musical event. ...

THE BEACON RUN -- What is it?

The Allman Brothers Band's annual residency at New York City's Beacon Theatre has become a rite of passage for fans since 1989. This year, rock's greatest touring act celebrates its 40th Anniversary with an impressive list of legendary musical guests.

Beginning March 9, 2009, every night at the Beacon will be a unique experience for the band and the audience. Set lists change dramatically from night to night as does the list of musical luminaries who jam with the ABB. In past years, the band has played from 90 to 100 different songs over the course of the entire Beacon run. This year's set lists and roster of guest artists will be the most special yet.

Another momentous occasion takes place when Allman Brothers Band founding member and drummer, Butch Trucks, introduces the live concert streaming site, Moogis, to coincide with the band's March 2009 Beacon Theatre run.

With the Beacon dates quickly selling out, Moogis ensures that you won't miss a single mind-blowing solo of the onstage action. Moogis subscribers will have a virtual front-row seat for all the dancing in the aisles, radiant light displays, and organic, explosive musical interplay at this landmark musical event.

The Allman Brothers Band's shows at the Beacon are set to make rock music history.

It won't be long before Moogis becomes synonymous with the Internet's best source for live performances.

With this years' ABB Beacon Run being posted on the web (subscription fee: $125), will bootlegs of the concerts be forbidden from the tracker? Would rips of the Beacon run from the website be allowed here??

These will not be of very high picture quality to make DVD's with. There will be multiple audio sources from each night available. It's all a matter of who you know.

Typically webcasts are of inferior quality that we don't allow. Please refer to our seeding guidelines before you go through the effort.
