Video Mixing

anyone know a good way to mix video live? a program? a hardware set up?

I found this but it doesn't have much support. It also doesn't seem to work well.

Re: Video Mixing

I don't think there are any computer programs that work well for live video switching/directing. All the shit from what I have seen is done through expensive hardware setups.

You could always build yourself a bootleg one with one of those Video signal switchers for your entertainment system and use that to switch from one source to another...

If that is what you are talking about?

I wish Apple would create some revolutionary program for systems with multiple fire-wire ports that allowed you to switch between two camera/firewire inputs and flow that out through another fire-wire port for the master video. That would revoltionize live video programs and would allow people to easily create TV shows live on the internet. But I don't know if systems can handle that right now. Maybe in a few more years.

something like this is the best thing I can think of, and it's still expensive... not to mention the fact you would have to set up decks or cameras to it... and unless you have a beta deck, you would likely have to buy converters for because the signal is probably component and not composite or s-video.

edit: i notice from the description that it also has some problems with the fader and color.
