Re: synch sbd audio to dvd

If you don't know what you are doing it's going to be easier to feed the sbd into the camera. The best way to do it is to synch in post with software such as Sony Vegas. Then make a DVD with DVD architect which you will have to do whether you sync in post or into the camera. This will take some skill/learning also. The problem with feeding it into the camera is you will have little audio control. It will likely be hot. You also will have cuts where you change tapes.

Re: synch sbd audio to dvd

The show will be in 2 halves( with a 20 minute break) so there should be no problems with tape changing as il have time to do that.I dont know what im doing which is why id rather leave it to someone who does.Im just looking for someone who has the software, most of all the knowledge/skill etc to do this. Not sure what i can offer in return, but if anyone offers to do it,it can be taken from there.By the way the band is an iron maiden tribute band.

Re: synch sbd audio to dvd

I would help you but I have too much on my plate at that moment.

I would record the sbd audio straight into the camera. You can use a line level attenuator if your camera does not have manual audio controls. I have done this many times with great success.

typically minidv tape is 60 minutes in SP and 90 minutes in LP.

Re: synch sbd audio to dvd

use Sony Vegas if you cant record the SBD to the camera. just transfer the video then audio, open them both in vegas, delete the audio track from the video, set a beginning point (such as 30 seconds before the first song), then sync them (just watch the video and see if the singer says the words the same time you hear them)

it wont be to hard once you get it snyced. just cut the ends to match, then save it

Re: synch sbd audio to dvd..maiden tribute

I don't know about Vegas but I always leave the camera audio. I then use that to sync the replacement audio, once done the camera audio goes and all is good. Using just ears seems easier than eyes and ears. ymmv

Absolutely.

don't delete the audio. you will need it to sync. just remember that light travels faster than sound. if you are WAY back in an arena filming the video will eb ahead of the audio. so keep that in mind when you sync. you possibly will need to compensate for this fact and not just sync the new audio with the audio.
