youtube downloading

Does anyone know a reliable non-malware program for downloading vids from YT?
Preferably free?

I was using one for several years but they've made it impossible to use without paying a monthly rate now. Not a fan of cracks and that kinda hacker stuff.

Re: youtube downloading

not downloading per se but I use Audacity to copy youtube music on occasion. Time consuming and one need to stay off the computer during the process

Re: youtube downloading

Thanks

90% of youtubers never reply about sharing raw materials and sometimes its nice to have as a cutaway or patch.

Re: youtube downloading

Does anyone know of tools for downloading audio only? Or am I stuck with playing back in real time and directing audio output from my playback device to a digital recorder by cabling?

Re: youtube downloading

again i don't condone or do it myself ever but to each there own

here ya go:

Step 1: Download, install & run Freemake Video Downloader. Search for YouTube music you want to get. Alternatively, you may paste YouTube URL in the search field and click "Search". Step 2: Choose original video quality and action: "Only download" or "Convert" to MP3, AVI, MKV, WAV ETC..

Re: youtube downloading

YouTube-DL will do it.

Steps
1. Download the Windows exe from the link above and drag it to your desktop.

2. Press Windows Key + R and type cmd when the box comes up.

3. A black command prompt window should come up, type "cd Desktop" (no quotes)

4. In the same window, type "youtube-dl.exe [REPLACE WITH LINK OF VIDEO] -f bestaudio' (no quotes). You should have the sound from the video on your Desktop (in the highest quality YouTube offers). Close the black window and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps!

Also: If you're doing something like making a small patch and having the best possible quality isn't important, I recommend dirpy.com. It's super easy to use and you can download a specific section as an mp3 very quickly.

Re: youtube downloading

There used to be a number of free online services that would take care of this...just plug in the url and it would serve up a download. Haven't used any in a while, but maybe google "download youtube video" and see what you find...

Re: youtube downloading

youtube-dl + ffmpeg = excellent if you're tech savvy

otherwise jdownloader2 is the way to go. Best download-manager that exists. http://jdownloader.org/jdownloader2
