Re: Fats Domino video got pulled

It may never have been transcoded. If it was taped in the UK, it would be transcoded. But since it was clearly filmed, the transfer to video could have just as easily been to PAL as it was to NTSC. "Charlie Is My Darling" by The Rolling Stones is a classic example of British film that was transferred to NTSC and thus, allowed in trackers.
I think TTD tries to be sure of lineage, and if in doubt....pulled. Bummer, because it's a great show!

Got burned like I did. Filmed in Europe and released in the US . . . Hard lesson to learn, but pay attention to the region code. Had a great Mott The Hoople reunion show, but the taper posted it in the US. Thusly it was pulled because of region code . . . Lesson Learned . . .

Re: Fats Domino video got pulled

I think maybe there's some confusion here - usually, video from England, France, etc. is in PAL format, so, as a rule, if something is from there then it almost always must be in PAL format.

Without knowing why your disc is NTSC and not the native PAL, it can't fly here. If you had a reason why it's in NTSC, like a film to video transfer, or a rebroadcast in North America where a PAL > NTSC transfer / transcode was done on "professional" equipment...

I don't think that's the reason... Or I don't understand your lesson! haha

Region codes have nothing to do with what format the video is encoded, and whether it's been transcoded by amateur equipment or not. It's a lack of lineage and / or an explanation of a possible mystery transcode that's the problem here. What was yours???

Re: Fats Domino video got pulled

Got it from Dime, figured that that the background on it was sound, alas, not the the case . . . . I use Dime as a Benchmark for uploads . . . but in todays world , there needs to be more research to the project . . .
