Question making DVDs .. I think I am not too old for this s&%t yet...

So I am very new to all of this stuff...

Question #1:
I have a pretty big AVI/MPG/MKV collection of stuff...

This is what I want to do: I would like to make a DVD where each video file is its own chapter.

There has to be some simple DVD burning software where I can just drop a bunch of AVI files in, and it burns me a disk...

Help?

Question #2:
Uhhh.. I am downloading a video... The whole thing is in a VIDEO_TS directory and there are a bunch of files with extentions .VOB, .IFO, etc... So what do I do know? How can I make a DVD out of this.

Lovingly confused,
-- Your old and crusty analog fan..

Q1: videohelp.com

Q2: search the site for the software you use to copy videos. We have several threads about how to burn DVDs using different software.

Re: gettin' fed up with dvd burnin!!!

When burning dual layer dvd's I found that copytodvd was the only program that worked. If the dvd does not play. Try shuting off the player and restarting. I have burned dvd's that my player would'nt play and then later...it played them. weird...

Re: Toast (mac) thinks DVD is encrypted when it's not

This is what it looks like for me. Then I just drag the VIDEO_TS folder or click "select" and browse for the folder. Then burn. I haven't had any messages about encryption.

Re: Toast (mac) thinks DVD is encrypted when it's not

Have you tried making an image with DVD Imager, mounting that and then ripping with MTR ? I don't know if it will work but it might be worth a go.

Yeah, I mean I use Toast all the time. It's only one or two things I've downloaded where it says that message.

Re: Toast (mac) thinks DVD is encrypted when it's not

Have you tried burning it using Data > DVD-ROM (UDF)? Maybe trying it that way would not cause that message to appear.

DVD Burning Problem / U2 12 06 2005 Gelsenkirchen show

Everything has been ok until the last week or so.

I have downloaded the U2 12/06/2006 show and i have burned the disc using Toast vesion 6.1.1 using DVD Video-from Video_TS tab and altough the picture is fine there is no sound. The disc seems to have the correct files in the folder and verification was Ok.

I am playing the shows on my Mac.

I have had the same problem on 4 other shows although 1 show has burned correctly with sound.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Burning a DVD, please help

I throw checksums and info and any covers that came with the torrent into an "EXTRAS_TS" folder.

newb needs converting help

I have been downloading videos and want to burn what I have downloaded. I can watch them on my laptop but I want to burn to DVD and be able to play in my stand alone player. Looks like all the files I have thus far are .vob coupled with .bup, .ts files. What do I do now? Are there free converters? A nice step by step guide would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Peace
