Azureus Help
Hmmmm, still trying to figure out how this client works.I noticed that when I click on a torrent it doesn't want to search to continue a partially started one...it just wants to start downloading all over again.
I've check marked, under files:save to default data directory then checked : move completed files (and I directed that to the same directory) Should I just keep them on the tracker til they are dead or move completed files? Does that sound right ? No members have liked this post.

Re: Azureus Help
Scrape ok means it checked in with the tracker and got info from it. OK basically you should start a torrent with AZ you jsut launch it from the browser it automatically saves all your torrent sfor you. Now I knew this was going to be an issue and I want to kill the guys at AZ in the last update they made a default download directory.
Go to tools > options clcik on files see halfway down the screen where it says save to default directory. Make sure that box is unchecked. should fix your problem. No members have liked this post.

Re: Azureus Help
Hmmmm, well, I've always used a default data directory. This is the way I have it set up for me.
When I download a torrent file, I have it save it to my Music / Downloads folder (I do that with my browser) In Azureus, Options / Files, I have Save to default data directory checked and I save to Music / Downloads Then in Options / Files, I have Move completed files checked and I save to Music / Downloads Completed and I also have move .torrent checked there When I offer up a torrent here, I start my folder out in Music / Downloads and I put my .torrent file in there also. That is what has worked for me.

At first I didn't realize that when the torrent finished and moved to the bottom part of the window that it was the "Entire" folder full of music. I thought it was just the torrent link. This is where the "other" ZWAN folder was guys..right in front of my face. I kept looking in folders in Azureus program file but could never find it. Edit.....BUT..if I do have them moved out when completed..then I'm no longer able to share I'd have to move them back in correct? No members have liked this post.

Re: Azureus Help
If it automatically points to your incoming folder then yes, you have to have the complete folder/show in that folder. If you can navigate to where it will point then no, just find the folder/show, select it and go.
This doesn't cover this particular issue, but here is a nice tutorial on how to set up Azureus for best and most community friendly performance. I got this from another site that I don't think we want publicized here... or I'd tell you what it was. Maybe I can do this: d e m o n o i d That shouldn't pop up in any searches, but still gives props to them for the effort. I think there was something in here about giving priority to large swarms which I can't find right now and I tend to disagree with. If there's 50 people seeding one show and only 3 seeding another, I prefer to give priority to the smaller swarm. But I didn't see where that was looking over it today. Guide: Quote:

Re: Azureus Help
Since it knows where the files are being moved upon completion (in my case to a folder called "Downloads Completed") it is automatically set up to seed from there. It does this all automatically and you don't need to worry about it. It just moves the completed folder and torrent to the other folder on your hard drive, it moves it on your Azureus screen to the bottom section, and then it just continues seeding.

Re: Azureus Help
So disregard what I said about that. I set each torrent to download where I want it to go. Once I clear off some drive space though, I think I'll try using the default folders and moving completed shows. I did have a couple instances where when I went to verify and file a show it wasn't finished and it was too late to finish it off. So that would help alleviate that problem.

Nina I'm reading that faq on Azureus as we speak but of course the settings layout is different as I have the newest version.. I checked the speed of my server and its saying I have 1.2 megabits per sec. I'm still clueless as how they figure out what speed to pick for uploading so I went with the 384kpbs. I'm tempted to go to 512 though what did you guys set yours at? No members have liked this post.

Re: Azureus Help
I have a 384Kb up, so I set mine for that (which sets the max upstream to 40KBps (8b=1B), and it works great. The more speed you can devote to seeding before it starts to slow down the rest of your connection (I know it's bad when webpages take too long to load) is great!
