Ratio Enforcement

Now that the new tracker has been running for a few months, is there any possibility to enforcing ratio? This is something that a few of us seeders are starting to get fed up with, and would like to see a change, or we may have to change where we seed. Comments? Suggestions?? I am proposing maybe an enforcement of a .65 or better ratio. I know that is a little low, but we have to start somewhere.

Re: Ratio Enforcement

The first thing I'm going to do is start posting a list of the latest 'Snatchers', that should help out on some of the Hit and Runs that are going on.

I thought 0.65 is a little high... I was thinking maybe 0.3 or 0.4. Clearly peple with 0.01 or 0.1 ratios are abusing the bittorrent though
also, the tracker stats aren't at all accurate...I've been seeding constantly on my desktop and the stats don't reflect it accurately anyway (and never really has) if you use multiple computers on the same network, or login from work etc etc...
there was one tracker I remember that kept a log of everyone that ever downloaded a particular torrent (yes, the list was hundreds of ppl long for each torrent), and I liked that..

Re: Ratio Enforcement

I would like to see some sort of enforcement...I know my ratio isn't that high, but I have three shows running now, in hopes of getting my ratio up so if you need one of them, get on it!!! I would have to say that .50 is a good place to start, then go from there....

Re: Ratio Enforcement

I vote yes on the ratio enforcement. I dont find it hard at all to keep ratio above 1.00 an i'm pretty much downloading 24/7. I would suggest .75........if you cant keep up with that than u are downloading to much shit.

Re: Ratio Enforcement

These ratio cutoffs are all too harsh IMO. This topic has been discussed ad nauseum around here and for right now we're sticking with what we've got.

I let another site because of this ratio thing... Lets just say at one time we all had next to nothing to offer.... I think it is elitist and ugly to have ratios its about sharing and teaching and leading by example.

This is the way to get the hit and runs to stay. Don't scare people off. Some people are grabbing at work as they don't have a computer on line at home but are behind a fire wall that doesn’t allow them to UL... After a while they will upgrade at home. if you have been good to them they will be there when you need them....

Finally don't we all have a lot better things to do than to stare at a tracker all day just waiting... itching to throw stones... Peace be the Journey...Cool runnin's

A

Re: Ratio Enforcement

The "Last Ten Snatches" feature will definitely change things around here. Don't worry.
