Im sorry I Lynne but I cant get that VCL to work, including those those which play on WinDVD. I think im a lost case here. Im going to go out and buy some better DVD-R and try to rip it, because if I dont have the proper media on my computer to play it, my DVD player should anyway, right?
Thanks for the help though, dont be surprised to me again when I try to rip it and its fuched. Much appreciation to the mods on here you guys really have your finger on the pules of us idiots out here.

Re: URGENT: Need help burning my DVD's!

burglecutt, are you making sure that when you start VLC, you hit Open, then Disc tab, then VIDEO_TS folder and then select the VIDEO_TS folder? (At least that is how it is on my Mac).

And burlecutt, we were all new to this at one time. You shouldn't ever feel you can't ask questions and not get some helpful people to try to help you out. At least, that is true here in Technobabble. Don't go into The Lounge though unless you are feeling brave.

Re: Problems with Nero

Haha, unfortunately I do not have enough money to get a second hard drive (I have a laptop, so it would have to be external). Thanks for the suggestion however, because I do think that it would work.

However, I did the unthinkable and deleted some stuff that I downloaded. I can now burn again! Hopefully this will last, but we will see.

it should...select "DVD" and "DVD-Video" as project type...drag *all* of the contents of the show's Video_TS folder [the one you d/led--these will be *.ifo, *.bup, & *.vob files] to the "Video_TS" folder in the project window...then click burn

should be watchable on yer standalone DVD player [unless you have a NTSC player and the show is PAL or viceevrsa [we can approach that if its the case later]

DVD Decrypter status

I am brand new to dvd burning (just got a new computer with a dvd drive and haven't actually burnt anything yet), and I've been browsing around to find a good program to use when my torrents from this site finish. I found a lot of reccomendations for DVD Decrypter, but when I went to check out the official site I saw that the guy who made it is in legal trouble. Is it ok to download this still? What's the status right now?

Re: DVD Decrypter status

If he's in legal trouble, I doubt you'll be able to download a legal copy of the program. If you're into using "not so legal" software, I'm sure it can be easily found using Google or your favorite search engine.
