FIREWALLED

Hello...and HELP! I've all of sudden became firewalled and I can't get out of it. I have been working with portforward and have tried everything! I open ports BUT they still are not reachable....I have been doing this for years. Then probably a week ago I became FIREWALLED...Not just here at TTD....ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Re: FIREWALLED

Happened to me a couple of times, where Windows updates turned the firewall on. Go in and turn ii off and reboot and see if that works. Did for me.

Re: FIREWALLED

Check your cable service. Comcrap so charitably gave me the new firewall and didn't say a thing. Finally found they were blocking the sites I was going to. Disable that firewall . . .

So they put up their own firewall? How did you get around it? In the Router?

Re: FIREWALLED

Go to the homepage of the provider and check internet settings. There should be a toggle switch to turn the firewall off and on. After that, you should be good to go.

Thanks...nothing like that on their website. It is a rural ISP and they don't block anything...but I'll call the and double check. tried everything else? However, things are working fine with TDD now....but...still says FIREWALLED and any portchecker shows I am blocked...

Re: FIREWALLED

i have been having a persistent "?false positive?". TTD says FIREWALLED, but casyouseeme.org shows success when testing if the port is visible.

Re: FIREWALLED

It doesn't matter if you're firewalled. Stop spending so much time trying to solve a non-issue. If you're firewalled, all it means is that you can't connect to another firewalled person in a torrent. You can still connect to people who aren't firewalled. It's no big deal.

I don't know why somebody would think that an ISP would firewall a user - normally it's due to a setting on your router.

Long story short. Don't worry about it!

your comment is bullshit, it's absolutely important to have an open port when seeding. if you consider it a non-issue that you are clueless.
