Inactive Audio Torrents

Torrents drop from Active to Inactive automatically, I assume, after 6 months (?).

Is there a limit on the number of Inactive Torrents that The Den can retain, and when we reach it, what happens? Do they get permanently deleted? Have we reached the limit already?

Re: Inactive Audio Torrents

Active > Inactive is based on a number of weeks without a seeder/leecher.

As to the number of Inactive, I dunno. They're just threads at that point, so i don't see why there would be a limit.

I'm sure someone else (maybe Lynne) will have concrete answers.

Re: Inactive Audio Torrents

When a show has gone two weeks without a seeder, it gets a notice at the top of the post like on this one - Frank Sinatra xxxx-xx-xx From the Vaults - unreleased studio outtakes 1955 -1960 (FLAC)

Wehn a show has gone three weeks without a seeder, then we remove it from the Torrents forums (it goes to the Inactive forums).

When a torrent is moved to Pulled or Inactive, the torrent file itself is deleted from the site. There is no limit on the number of threads we can have right now. Site performance is just fine, so there have been no thoughts to pruning the inactive show threads in that forum.

Re: Inactive Audio Torrents

is there any way when a torrent is made inactive, the # of downloaders could be preserved?

Re: Inactive Audio Torrents

It has been lately. I added that to the code about two months ago. It shows up in the upper left corner of the thread. See this thread which I just moved to inactive - http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...ad.php?t=34946

I guess Bill figured he didn't need to read it.

Yup, see what you mean - I just fell into the mindset of picturing them taking up acres of hard drive real estate, when in actual fact they'll be not much larger than a .txt file with the same text..... another case of my brain catching up with my typing after a short delay .....
