Newbie and I need help with md5

I downloaded two videos. One I was able to burn, the other has a MD5 logo.
I've read as many threads and searched the internet and am still unable to find a way to burn this video. Everytime I try to click on it I get a verification on MKW and when I burn the disc all I get is a MD5 logo and another DVD-R I can't use.
I am using Nero oem suite and also have Sonic RecordNow.
If anybody can help me make sense out of this MD5 I would be very appreciative.

I don't understand what you mean by:

What videos did you download? From here?

Re: Newbie and I need help with md5

I downloaded a Grateful Dead video (83070GD.md5).
All of my files video and audio all go to My Documents.
In My Documents the Dead video is saved with a MD5
icon and next to it is: 83070GD
File Integrity Signature List
1 KB
When I click the MD5 icon it runs the MKW audio compression tool and verifies it with the exception of a text file. When I try to burn the file with any of the burning applications I have the file doesn't show up as burnable unless I scroll down to All files *.*. It burns to the disc but when I play it back on the computer all I get is the MD5 file exactly like I described above. Is there any way I can download it as something other than an MD5 file?
I appreciate you taking the time to help me.
Rick

Re: Newbie and I need help with md5

An md5 file is used to verify that other files where downloaded properly. In this case, since you downloaded a DVD, it is probably used to verify the contents of a VIDEO_TS folder. It is the VIDEO_TS folder that you want to burn to DVD, not the md5 file. I'm not familiar with Nero (I'm on a Mac), but I think I've read that you open it, select Burn Video DVD and then that should open a window that shows both a VIDEO_TS folder and an AUDIO_TS folder. At that point, you drag the contents of your downloaded VIDEO_TS folder into the Nero VIDEO_TS folder and hit burn. If that doesn't make sense, post back and someone who actually uses Nero to burn can come and do a better job of explaining it than I.

Sounds spot on.

But, yeah, don't burn the MD5 or txt files. Just what's in the VIDEO_TS folder.

Re: Newbie and I need help with md5

The only file I can pull up on my computer is the MD5. I can not locate the video_ts. I directed MKW program to put it in a file on my desktop but nothing.
I did a find file and complete search of my C drive and still nada.
I'll keep looking.

This show?

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...highlight=1970

When you downloaded the DVD it would have created a folder called 83070GD. Within that folder, would have been a VIDEO_TS folder, a 83070GD.MD5, and a 8-30-70.txt files.

Ignore the MD5, ignore the txt. The VIDEO_TS and the files INSIDE it are what you want to burn - just how Lynne said to do it.

Re: Newbie and I need help with md5

I found the file stored in my Documents. When I tried to open the file it would ask with what program. I used a movie preview program and I tried all the video files. I finally found it and saved it to My Videos and renamed so I could burn it later.
Thanks for all the help.
