Stupid DVD Questions...

I downloaded four shows, only to find out that I don't know how to burn them to a DVD. Is there any program I can use to burn these shows? One show is PAL, the rest are NTSC. I am on a Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX if that is important.

blank dvd > place in burner > burn as data disk

(in windows 7: drag/drop the VIDEO_TS folder > burn dvd)

Re: Stupid DVD Questions...

one can watch the stuff we share here using VLC (which is available at VLC.org....match it to your operating system)...you'll need software to burn dvds. One just burn the VIDEO_TS folder out of the stuff you've downloaded (all the other stuff just sorta appears on the final disc)....Toast Nero etc. stuff like that. It truly becomes second nature after a while so not get overwhelmed.

Yes it will, amongst many other software programs, just take your pick. My advice would be 'ONES', IMO a very good price/quality ratio, but if you think 25 bucks is too much, there are many freeware/shareware programs. (Never had a coaster since.)

The fact that one show is PAL and the others NTSC isn't important for the actual burning itself, but it's important for the play-back of the dvd's. You'll need a standalone (SA) dvd-player which can play both. You can always play both types on your PC with a mediaplayer like VLC or something similar.

I think there are many other programs that will let you do the same thing. And you can always burn a data disc from the VIDEO_TS folder with the addition of the EXTRAS_TS and an empty AUDIO_TS folder which will give you the same result.
