Copying DVD to HDD

I seem to be having trouble doing this correctly in order to create a torrnt file on my HDD. I want to take my DVD and get it into the right folders so I can create a video torrent. What are the proper steps

Re: Copying DVD to HDD

drag and drop the VIDEO_TS to teh HD

run an md5 from the original DVD

test this md5 against what's on yer HD

get gspot to generate the stats

write up a txt file

there's some more info in the FAQ, or ask here if you need some more details.

also, you might want to test that the dvd is okay when re-burned... one guy I get standalone transfers from uses a deck (I think its sony) that adds copy protection to home-burns.. so it needs to be extracted with DVD decrypter.
