New Version of EAC Released

It's been a very long time between upgrades, so I thought this was significant news for those who use EAC. Some nice new features
--------------------------------------------------
Exact Audio Copy V0.99 prebeta 1
Released: Jun 30 2007.
Change Log:
- Better AccurateRip support (reading ranges and CD images)
- Improved log file output
- Flac encoder now comes with EAC
- Much improved configuration wizard
- Writing CD-Text using CDRDAO
- Copy and test range
- Added writing new tags for ID3V2 like duration, encoder settings and the CD TOC
- Correction of Xing header after writing ID3V2

Re: New Version of EAC Released

I know it's an audio tool, but I sure wish they'd add data CD burning to it, just as a utility.

The "No Errors Occured" message at the end of an EAC secure rip log is a 100% guarantee that your CD was extracted perfectly and without errors, no matter what the track quality is. Has been for years.

"Better AccurateRip support (reading ranges and CD images)"

any improvements are good, but hardly anybody copies CDs as ranges (unless they want to retrack. even then they can use shntool join, then retrack) or images.

Unhappy Re: New Version of EAC Released

Be careful. This version has spyware which is installed along with it. It is called "Desktopicon". It installs a .exe called ebayshortcuts.exe. Searching on Google finds that this is spyware.

Have others had the same experience?

Horace

During set up, untick the box that installs the e-bay link.
