Hi All

I keep getting firewalled.

Could you show me how to fix this? What you need to look at, etc.?

Thank you All

Happens to me occasionally, a simple re-boot usually solves it.

No

It still goes red/firewalled.

I looked at opening ports, etc with stuff. I have Norton. and I tried Windows, etc.
, but I don't really know what change in the computer system.

You usually need to log onto your router/modem and make additional settings there. I wouldn't spend any more time trying to fix it.

Icon4 bad ratio

Hi Moderators,

here's what happens, I bought an ext hd, I ran out of space, and once I did I started downloading Bob Dylan video torrents, many of which were old torrents... now, for some reason I remembered that here works differently from Dime and I thought the ratio wasn't really a requirement (also bc with the increased speed, compared to when we all started with torrents, nowadays even a huge torrent gets to be downloaded in a few mins and it's more and more difficult, and maybe less necessary? to keep up with ratio), but I ended up with a 0.03 ratio and now the site tells me I'm FIREWALLED, which I'm not bc I was downloading perfectly, and my remaining torrents here are stuck...

can you help me fix the problems? what can I do? I have some old torrents downloaded also on Dime, maybe I could start seeding those but I sense starting with 0.03 it would still take a lot for me to get in balance to start downloading again?

Also, I sent this message privately to a moderator but I can't see my message in the sent folder, it seems like it disappears in the recess of the web, somewhere...

Thanks!

Re: Firewall Problem Help

Just because TTD shows you as firewalled, doesn't mean you are. Sometimes it gives a false positive. To find out if you are really firewalled, you should look at your torrent client as that is what really matters. If it shows you firewalled, then you are firewalled.

Re: Firewall Problem Help

I am not firewalled on Dime, for instance, and the message I get here is

"Errore: Failed - Connection limit exceeded! You may only download/leech 3 shows at a time."

But I'm only trying to download one, as the others one are stopped, do having stopped torrents still counts for each one of 'em even if they are not in download mode?

Re: Firewall Problem Help

I see you currently trying to download 5 differenent Bob Dylan shows. You are showing up as firewalled and using port 64541. You should be able to check in your torrent client and see if that port is firewalled or not. If it says you aren't, then don't worry about it. However, since you are only showing as trying to download torrents, you are not doing any activity that would make your ratio go up at all.

Thanks for you reply.

I use Vuze, I just checked the preferences but no luck understanding how to check if that port is firewalled, but let me understand, why would it be firewalled all of a suddend? As I was downloading and downloaded other torrents the previous days... so, I tend to think I'm not but what's the point if I result firewalled on the site? why shouldn't I worry about it? How do I manage to complete the torrents if I'm firewalled? currently I'm not getting the "limts" message I was getting before, from Vuze, I get an "ok", but at the same time I result firewalled here...

and I'd love to participate and seed but is that possible if I'm firewalled? and if I'm not, what else can I do to improve the ratio? I don't think I have anything to create any new torrents for the website...
