Help with uploading issue

OK, Ive tried to seach for an answer to this recent problem but havent come up with one. Essentially, it seems that I can only upload while I am actively downloading a torrent. If my download completes or I jump on to help seed I am able to fully connect (checks file and reads download succeeded) but get a 0.00 upload speed.

This is very recent occurrance, as I have had no problems in the past (and I do not appear to come up as firewalled now). It also seems weird that it will upload while I am downloading only.

I have been using an old version of Bit Torrent (an accepted version) but since this problem started tried using Bit Tornado and this didn't fix the problem (exact same issue though the torrent is showing a 'green light').

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with uploading issue

It's not bittorrent, it's comcast. Try doing a search in this forum for "comcast" and/or "sandvine" (or "sandvining")

Re: Help with uploading issue

Thanks for the quick reply. That seems like that's my problem.

I have been reading some of those threads, but it doesn't seem like anyone has found a real solid solution or workaround for Comcast. Is that right?

Re: Help with uploading issue

Well, there are a couple of solutions for a sandvine work around, but I don't know how successful people are being when they use it. I think most users are choosing the method to limit their download speed to close to their upload speed so that they may upload as much as they download.

Re: Help with uploading issue

Makes sense. Thanks for the help. I will try that for now to prevent putting my ratio any further in the hole.
