Want to record from........

HD settop box to DVD player/recorder.

I've tried a couple of ways to hook these two up together but I still get no signal transfer.

Anyone have any insight as to how to do this.....please.

Re: Want to record from........

What outputs does your high definition set top box have? It will most likely have composite (yellow [for video] red and white [for audio]) or component(green/blue/red [for video] and red and white [for audio]. Just plug these into the corresponding ports in your DVD recorder and make sure you tell your DVD recorder that you're recording from your 'line' input.

What model DVD recorder and set top box do you have?

Re: Want to record from........

Connect L/R Audio Output from set top box to Audio Input on recorder. Note which audio input you connect to - it may be shown as A1, A2, AV1 or AV2.

SELECT that input on the recorder. Consult instruction manual if unsure how to do this.

Press Record. You should be good to go, UNLESS the set top box maker has inhibited the audio outputs, either for copy protection or programme licencing issues.
