How Can I Watch my .VOB Files??

I've downloaded a show that i'd like to be able to watch on my laptop, but I can't seem to figure out what program I need to do this. I apparently don't have it already. Can anyone help???

Thanks!

Re: How Can I Watch my .VOB Files??

well first of all, if you downloaded it here, it was a structured DVD, least i hope so. so your actually trying to open/play the .IFO file, which will include whatever title/menues the dvd has. you can open .IFO in any program you watch normal DVD's with - windows media i think will even work, but there are a ton of programs, i use WinDVD.
if you are in fact tho trying to play just the .VOB (which is just the video), you can use the same programs, or also i know VLC will play .VOB. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Re: How Can I Watch my .VOB Files??

Thanks for the help...but for some reason I can't get these programs to work (I've tried winDVD and something called Cyberlink PowerCinema). I click the icon and nothing happens, quite strange!

any ideas out there?

try opening the program with no video, and then drag-and-drop the .IFO or .VOB file onto the programs interface to load it. or right click > open with... and chose the file. seems very weird neither of those would load IFO files, i've used both of those programs before. best of luck to ya tho. are you sure the video is 100% complete? check the md5

In WinDVD select "DVD from folder" as your source as long as the files are in VIDEO_TS as on a DVD it should work.
